Deputy PM: Govt to spend 250–290 bln rbl/year on maternity capital

USMAN, Lipetsk Region, Jan 22 (PRIME) -- Spending of Russia’s budget on maternity capital will stabilize at 250–290 billion rubles per year by 2022–2023, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova told reporters on Wednesday.

“There is a preliminary estimate now, and we are adjusting it together with the Finance Ministry in the framework of amendments to the 2020 budget. The preliminary estimate is that it would take about 100 billion rubles in the first year (in 2020),” she said.

“After that, it will rise depending on the use by the families of the possibilities of the new and previous maternity capitals. It will rise, and the sum will stabilize at about 250–290 billion rubles in the third or the fourth year of the program (in 2022–2023),” she said.

On January 15, President Vladimir Putin prolonged the maternity capital program until the end of 2026, introduced a 466,617 ruble payment for the first child, and increased payment for the second child to 616,617 rubles.
